ABOUT HERBSTER HOCKEY

 

 Herbster Hockey, founded in 2016  is widely recognized as a premier training company for players at the youth, Junior, College, and Pro levels. Scott and his staff work with over 400 athletes each summer, ranging from youth players to veteran NHL players and Olympic athletes.The company has grown significantly since its inception, offering six distinct summer programs, including mite-high school, girls-only, and an individual skating analysis program, all of which are designed to innovate player development at all levels.

Herbster Hockey has established several sponsorships, including a partnership with Bauer Hockey Inc. Scott and his team not only test new gear and provide feedback to Bauer but also proudly promote the Bauer brand by outfitting Herbster Hockey with Bauer equipment and apparel. 

 
SCOTT HERBSTER, Founder
 

Scott Herbster is a full-time skating and skill development coach with over nine years of experience. During the regular season, Scott collaborates with various youth and high school organizations, offering his expertise as a skating and skills coach through his company. Additionally, he serves as the Skills Coach for the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL (Seattle Kraken Affiliate) and holds the position of Director of Skill Development for the University of Wisconsin-Superior (DIII) Men’s and Women’s teams. Scott has also spent time with the University Wisconsin- Madison Men’s team (DI).

Scott is known for specializing in practice-to-game transferable skills that enhance the performance of individual players in their respective positions. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that each player reaches their maximum efficiency in every aspect of their game. Scott prioritizes effective communication with each player, recognizing it as crucial for establishing a solid foundation for skill and confidence development. By understanding the player's self-assessment and incorporating his observations, Scott can pinpoint areas that require attention in their game, leading to comprehensive improvement.

Over the past five summers, Scott has hosted several players in the Chicagoland area for training, a testament to his professionalism and dedication to player development. He consistently works with 45-50 DI and DIII Men’s and Women’s players throughout the summer in group and 1-on-1 settings, focusing on a range of skills from individual techniques to game-transferable situations, mirroring his approach with professional clientele. Scott's impact in the pro hockey scene continues to grow, as he has worked with players who trust their individual development to him.

Outside of hockey, Herbster Hockey is committed to giving back to the community through charity golf outings and 3v3 youth and adult tournaments. Scott also contributes to his alma mater by presenting to the senior class on entrepreneurship, demonstrating his dedication to both the sport and the community.
